Sarah Damiani is the owner and founder of Complete Care Acupuncture and Wellness. She is licensed by the Maryland State Board of Acupuncture and holds a Master of Acupuncture from the Tai Sophia Institute as well as a Master of Arts in Mathematics from the Pennsylvania State University. She is also a certified Acu Detox Specialist with the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. She strives to bring the best Acupuncture treatment possible to Crofton, Maryland and the surrounding area.

Sarah specializes in the treatment of acute and chronic pain, utililizing a sophisticated technique called the “Balance Method”, which allows for the treatment of pain without needling into the painful area itself. For example, neck pain can be treated by stimulating acupuncture points near the wrist and ankle.

In addition to her studies at Tai Sophia, Sarah spent two years studying with internationally-renowned Chinese medicine practitioner Lonny Jarrett in Stockbridge, MA. As an outcome of this study, she is able to integrate and utilize an advanced system for pulse diagnosis into her overall treatment strategies. This system benefits her patients greatly by giving detailed information on both the nature and etiology of any pathological patterns that may be present.

Sarah is certified by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) as an Acu Detox specialist. The NADA treatment protocol consists of 5 needles placed on each ear and is used often in her treatments for patients who are quitting smoking, dealing with overeating, coming off of long-term use of medication, or struggling with addictions of any kind.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys cooking, stand up paddle boarding, hiking, gardening, and traveling. She is passionate about animal welfare and controlling the pet population, and often volunteers at animal shelters in the local area. She lives in Crownsville, MD with her husband Matt and their 4 cats (Petey, Bean, Manny, and Q).

Her down-to-earth holistic approach combines compassion, knowledge and intuition with clinical expertise. She provides a custom therapy session based on the patient’s individual needs and may use a variety of techniques to produce the most effective and lasting results.

Having over 20 years clinical experience in massage and over 300 hours of continuing education courses, she has a number of different ‘tools’ or methods to choose from when providing care. Her focus is in identifying and treating the source of soft tissue imbalance as opposed to just treating the symptoms. Her passion for working with and understanding fascia (connective tissue) has led her to complete advanced studies of the Anatomy Trains Myofascial Meridians which were discovered by Tom Myers LMT, a widely respected pioneer in the field of professional massage. This training has expanded her approach to include assessment and treatment of fascial patterns. This powerful work is known as Fascia Release for Structural Balance (FRSB).

She has a history of volunteering at wildlife rehabilitation centers and spent a few years working with Eleanor Fletcher (aka The Turtle Lady) in Juno Beach FL where she participated in sea turtle rescue, rehabilitation and protection.

” Calming the nervous system is essential in creating a healing massage therapy experience. In such an environment, the body’s innate systems are free to create balance by releasing tension/restriction/negativity. You add focused/mindful/purposeful tissue manipulation to the mix and significant results are achieved! “ ~ Kristy Keck LMT
